Obituary: Angelo J. Sarkees

Angelo J. Sarkees, 76, of Lewiston, passed away on June 22, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Cezar J. and Rose M. (Morreale) Sarkees.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced 36-year-old Ashley M. Holmes of Kenmore pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to one count of criminally negligent homicide (class "E" felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, the highest sustainable homicide charge, in full satisfaction of the indictment.
Niagara County Department of Health offers free diabetes self-management workshop

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Duvan A. Berrio-Hernandez, no permanent address, was sentenced today in County Court by Judge Caroline Wojtaszek to serve the next 20 years in State Prison for his conviction of criminal sex act in the first degree. Berrio-Hernandez previously admitted to sexually assaulting a woman in Niagara Falls on Nov. 5 of last year.
