The Western New York Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its annual military and veteran resource brunch for active and retired service members and their families, Saturday, June 15. The free event will be held at the George F. Lamm-American Legion Post 622, located at 962 Wehrle Drive, Williamsville. Doors open at 10 a.m., and the program will begin at 11 a.m.

SUNY Niagara is celebrating a historic achievement for its surgical technology program. The graduating Class of 2024 marks a first in the program's history, with all 15 students earning a passing grade on the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certified surgical technologist (CST) exam, giving the cohort a 100% pass rate.

The Niagara Wine Trail members announce the return of a wine and cheese event - now expanding to be a charcuterie event. Participating wineries will feature a different cheese paired with a special wine. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday June 1, and from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, June 2. Tickets are $40 per person per day and include the cheese sample and three tastes of wine at each participating winery.

Island voters approved the Grand Island Central School District's 2024-25 budget by the vote of 772-445 during a vote at the high school on Tuesday. Voters also approved a proposition authorizing the purchase of three buses to transport students and two vehicles for buildings and grounds by the vote of 763-453.
