The annual Grand Island Lions Christmas Party was held at the Buffalo Launch Club and was well attended by Lions and their significant others. The festivities included a visit by WNY Lions District Gov. Jeremy Schnurr of North Tonawanda. During the celebration, Schnurr inducted the Lions’ newest members: Richard "Fitz" Fitzgerald and Bonnie Fitzgerald. Both new members were sponsored by Lion Anne Fahning, who proudly pinned both with their official Lions pin as part of the induction ceremony.

•The Grand Island Lions Club is pleased to announce the sponsorship of its second community clothing shed, owned and serviced by St. Pauli Textile Inc. of Farmington.
The newly installed shed is located in the parking lot of William Kaegebein Elementary School, at the corner of Love Road and Beaver Island Parkway. Proceeds generated from this shed will support the Lions’ many charitable and humanitarian initiatives.
This new location complements the Lions’ original clothing shed, which remains in operation on the grounds of Grand Island Middle School on Ransom Road. Together, both sheds contribute to the club’s ongoing fundraising efforts.
The Lions are currently accepting donations of clothing and household textiles, including clothing, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, curtains, pillowcases and stuffed animals – no exceptions please. All items must be placed in plastic bags.
Funds raised through the clothing sheds are used to support local charitable programs and, when possible, to leverage matching grants – maximizing the Lions’ ability to serve the community and help make a positive difference both locally and beyond.
