Wegmans Press Release

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 22, customers can help Wegmans Food Markets “Feed it Forward” during the companywide “Check Out Hunger” scan campaign. Through Nov. 29, customers can donate $1, $2, $3, $5, or any amount at checkout, with 100% of the proceeds going to each store’s local food bank.

“Every dollar counts in the fight against hunger, and we can’t thank our customers and employees enough for helping fight food insecurity right in our own neighborhoods,” said Linda Lovejoy, Wegmans community relations manager. “This campaign not only provides our local food bank partners with funding as we head into the busy holiday season, but it also supports their programs throughout the year.”

According to Feeding America, more than 47 million people in the U.S. face hunger. The annual “Check Out Hunger” campaign raises critical funds for the company’s 50 Feeding America food bank partners who provide year-round assistance to food-insecure families.

Wegmans has a long history of supporting local food banks through daily food donations and annual scan campaigns. In 2024, Wegmans donated more than 36.6 million pounds of food, and its customers raised more than $4.1 million through its annual scan campaigns. Since its inception over 30 years ago, the Wegmans “Check Out Hunger” scan campaign has raised nearly $55 million. Learn more about Wegmans community giving here.
