At 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, the Town of Grand Island, VFW Post 9249 Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial Post, American Legion Post 1346 and Grand Island High School wind ensemble will honor the men and women who made the supreme sacrifice for this country while in military service. They are remembered each and every day and will be honored on Memorial Day.
Veterans, family members and the community are cordially invited to attend a program at Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial Park. There will be a reception following the ceremony at Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249 located at 2121 Grand Island Blvd.

Purple Heart monument dedication
Immediately following the Memorial Day ceremony, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 187 Buffalo will dedicate the new Purple Heart monument. Please join us in dedicating the monument that honors over 2 million Purple Heart recipients (since World War II).
This event will be held at the Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial, located at the intersection of Grand Island Boulevard and Baseline Road.
