Grand Island High School announces second class of Athletic Hall of Fame inductees

Grand Island High School is proud to announce the second class of inductees into the Grand Island Vikings Athletic Hall of Fame. This distinguished group of athletes, coaches and contributors will be honored during the Hall of Fame Weekend, Oct. 3-4, celebrating decades of excellence and commitment to Viking athletics.

Following the inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2024, which inducted nine foundational figures, the Class of 2025 continues the tradition of honoring those who have left a lasting impact on Grand Island’s proud athletic legacy.

2025 Hall of Fame Inductees include Michael Blocho (Class of 2004), Joe Dunlop (‘92), Brett Kern (‘04), Michael Podlucky (‘66), Jessica Remmes Davis (‘06), Mike Rodriquez (‘74), Julie Roth Neville (‘96), coach Dick Bessel and H. David Myers (original athletic director).

Hall of Fame Weekend events include:

Friday – varsity homecoming football game – Grand Island Vikings vs. Amherst – at 7 p.m., Gene Masters Field; Hall of Fame Class of 2025 introduced at halftime

Saturday – Induction luncheon at 11 a.m., Buffalo Launch Club, 503 E. River Road

The entire Grand Island community is invited to join in the celebration of these exceptional individuals who have represented the spirit and tradition of Viking athletics through their achievements and service.
