Niagara Frontier Antique & Classic Boats Press Release & Photo
Niagara Frontier Antique & Classic Boats (NFACB) presents the 46th annual Antique & Classic Boat Show, one of the largest gatherings of vintage watercraft in the nation. This year’s event will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal, bringing together antique boats, classic cars, and community spirit along the Niagara River.
Visitors can marvel at award-winning antique mahogany runabouts, cruisers, and early fiberglass “glassics” from the 1920s through the 1960s; celebrate this year’s theme highlighting boats built on the Niagara Frontier; and stroll through the classic car show, featuring over 100 select automobiles paired nostalgically with the vintage boats on display.
The show opens to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Buffalo Launch Club, 503 E. River Road, Grand Island. Admission is free and open to the public; a $10 parking fee applies per car.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome visitors to Grand Island once again for the 46th annual Antique & Classic Boat Show,” said Rocky Nagel, president of Niagara Frontier Antique & Classic Boats. “As one of the largest boat shows of its kind in the U.S. and Canada, we are proud to produce an event that offers a sense of wonder and nostalgia that brings people together year after year.”
Nagel added, “This year is especially meaningful as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal and showcase the Erie Canal boat Seneca Chief. Having Buffalo Maritime Center’s historic replica at the show is an incredible opportunity for our community to connect with New York’s boating heritage in a hands-on way. And, there’s nothing quite like standing on the docks, surrounded by rows of vintage boats with their shiny mahogany gleaming in the sun, and hearing the stories of the people who have restored and cared for them.”
