Neighbors Foundation Press Release & Photo
The Grand Island Rotary Club is stepping forward in a big way this holiday season to support the Neighbors Foundation’s annual “Share Your Happiness” campaign. The club will match all donations – dollar for dollar – up to $4,000. This match is made possible, in part, through a $2,000 district grant awarded by Rotary International, allowing the local club to expand its giving and deepen its impact on the community.
This year, the Neighbors Foundation has set an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 to meet the needs of local families facing food insecurity and financial hardship. This financial goal is in addition to the thousands of nonperishable food items currently being collected by local businesses, schools, and nearly every organization across Grand Island – all to benefit the Neighbors Foundation. With rising prices and increased requests for assistance, the campaign plays a vital role in helping local families during the Christmas season.
Grand Island Rotary Club President Faye Teluk emphasized the importance of community support: “The Rotary Club is proud to support the Neighbors Foundation and help inspire generosity across our community. Every donation – big or small – will be doubled, and will truly make a meaningful difference for local families who need our help this Christmas. Thanks to Rotary district grant funding, we’re able to bring Rotary dollars back into our own community to support the neighbors who need it most.”
She noted, “If you’re someone who loves giving back and wants to make a local impact, Rotary is always looking for community-minded neighbors to join us.”
Neighbors Foundation Board Member Diane Garey expressed deep appreciation for the partnership, adding, “We are deeply grateful to the Grand Island Rotary Club for this generous partnership. Their commitment to matching donations will inspire even greater community support – and every doubled dollar will make a meaningful difference for families who need our help this Christmas.”
Community members can participate in the matching challenge by donating online at www.GINeighbors.org or by mailing contributions to P.O. Box 155, Grand Island, NY 14072.
Together, Grand Island can help the Neighbors Foundation reach its $20,000 goal and continue the spirit of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” this holiday season.
