Grand Island Rotary supports Neighbors Foundation with $4,000 donation
Submitted
Christmas week brought an extra reason to celebrate, as Grand Island Rotary Club President Faye Teluk proudly presented a $4,000 matching-funds donation to Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island President Dave Conboy – helping the Neighbors Foundation’s “Share Your Happiness” campaign rise well beyond its ambitious $20,000 goal.

The Rotary Club’s pledge to match every community donation dollar-for-dollar up to $4,000 helped further strengthen the already impressive support shown by the community throughout the holiday season. Residents, organizations and local businesses rallied together – filling the campaign thermometer and demonstrating just how powerful “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” can be.
This generosity comes at a time when many families in the community are facing real challenges, including rising grocery costs, unexpected expenses, and periods of job or income uncertainty. Funds from the campaign will help ensure that households experiencing food insecurity and financial strain receive much-needed support into the new year.
“We are extremely grateful to the Rotary Club and the many generous donors whose kindness helped us not only meet – but surpass – our goal,” Garey said. “This incredible response will allow the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island to continue serving families during a time of real and growing need.”

Neighbors Foundation sharing ‘Holiday Happiness’

There’s power in numbers!
Never has it been clearer than watching the efforts of three Grand Island church communities working together to contribute to the Neighbors Foundation “Holiday Happiness” distribution in a big way. For years, the Neighbors Foundation has coordinated a holiday distribution of nonperishable food for Grand Island residents.
The collaborative efforts of Trinity Church, St. Timothy Lutheran Church and St. Martin in the Field Episcopal Church have joined forces to double the supply of turkeys available for distribution. Raising over $2,000 for much-needed nonperishable food items to help restock the pantry shelves, these three faith communities will continue to work together to serve those in need of assistance.
