Buffalo Zoo press release
The Buffalo Zoo will be celebrating the place we all call home during “Party for the Planet” presented by Tops Friendly Markets on Saturday, April 25.
Our annual Earth Day celebration will feature keeper talks, animal ambassador meet and greets, children’s activities and educational opportunities to learn how we can better protect our planet.
Environmental groups from the Western New York area will also be tabling around the zoo.
"Conservation and working to save our wildlife and planet are always the Buffalo Zoo's top priorities,” Buffalo Zoo President and CEO Lisa Smith said. “Educating our visitors on what they can do to create a sustainable future is something we take great pride in, and we’re thrilled to partner with Tops Friendly Markets to push that mission forward and celebrate Earth during ‘Party for the Planet.’ ”
Thanks to Tops Friendly Markets, the first 500 guests during “Party for the Planet” will also receive a free reusable bag.
“At Tops, we believe caring for our communities starts with caring for our planet. We’re proud to support events like ‘Party for the Planet’ at the Buffalo Zoo that inspire families across Western New York to take small, meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future. Together, we can help protect the environment we all call home – for today and for generations to come,” said Courtney Mailhot, community relations manager for Tops Markets.
The Buffalo Zoo is open normal hours on April 25, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4 p.m. “Party for the Planet” activities begin right at 10 a.m. and will wrap up at 3 p.m. All the “Party for the Planet” fun can be enjoyed free with standard Buffalo Zoo admission.
