A cherished summer tradition returns Friday, July 10, as the 24th annual Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise & Clambake takes place at the historic Youngstown Yacht Club, rain or shine. Benefiting Niagara Hospice, the longtime fundraiser has raised nearly $700,000 in support of the nonprofit organization’s mission of providing comfort, dignity and support to patients and families throughout the community.

Each year, members of the Youngstown Yacht Club and volunteer skippers from across Western New York generously donate their boats and time to create an unforgettable experience on the Niagara River. The cruise portion of the event sets sail at 2:30 p.m., with guests enjoying refreshments and hospitality provided by participating boat owners, along with live music from The Junkyard Dogs performing on the water for passing boats. Following the cruise, festivities continue on land with a traditional clambake and buffet beginning at 6 p.m., accompanied by live entertainment from Soul Committee.

“This event has become such a meaningful tradition for so many families and supporters throughout our community,” said Paul Beatty Jr., co-chairman. “It’s a wonderful evening on the water and on shore, and it directly helps ensure Niagara Hospice can continue providing exceptional care and support.”

Organizers expect the cruise portion of the event to sell out quickly and encourage guests to register early to secure their spot. Tickets are also available for those wishing to attend only the evening clambake and cookout.

Volunteer skippers interested in donating their boat and time are encouraged to contact Co-Chairman Adam Burns at 716-713-5119. Registration, ticket pricing and additional details are available at www.hospicecruiseandclambake.com or by contacting Niagara Hospice at 716-280-0766.
