Artpark & Company was the place to be over the weekend, as it hosted three popular, mainstream music acts, and a special family-friendly circus.

On Friday night, the Artpark & Company Amphitheater crowd was treated to a bevy of 1990s/2000 hits, as it welcomed Toad the Wet Sprocket (“All I Want,” “Good Intentions,” “Fall Down,” “Walk on the Ocean”), KT Tunstall (“Other Side of the World,” “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree,” “Suddenly I See,” “The Boys of Summer” cover) and Sixpence None the Richer (“Don’t Dream It’s Over,” “There She Goes,” “Kiss Me”). Then on Sunday afternoon and evening, the venue hosted “Artpark’s Cirque Festival,” with performances from internationally acclaimed cirque troupe Flip Fabrique, professional solo swinging-trapeze and acrobatic artist Violet Defiant, and dance and drumming with Slyboots Circus.

Flip Fabrique, from Quebec, Canada, brought its “Summer Break” performance – and double-decker “Summer Break Bus”/stage – to Lewiston, showcasing a circus-styled acrobatic recital of what it was like being at summer camp for the very first time (complete with new friends, hijinks and nostalgia).
Despite a few raindrops, the show went on – and was well-received by patrons in attendance.
“Artpark’s Cirque Festival” also offered face-painting and hands-on activities for children.
