Empire State Development today announced a $9 million capital grant has been awarded to the Buffalo Zoo from the Regional Economic and Community Assistance Program (RECAP) to support 17 different projects aimed at improving safety, animal welfare and the visitor experience at one of the region's most popular attractions.

The New York Power Authority board of trustees has approved $400,000 in funding for the energy storage and microgrid training and certification (ESAMTAC) program to prepare electrical contractors and workers for safe and effective installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, repair, retrofitting, and decommissioning of energy storage and microgrid or energy surety microgrid (ESM) systems.

Customers of Wegmans Food Market stores raised more than $2.5 million during the company's fall 2024 hunger relief checkout scanning campaign, known regionally as "Check Out Hunger" or "Together Against Hunger." This campaign allows customers to donate any amount at checkout, with 100% of the proceeds going to each store's local Feeding America food bank partner.
