The New York Power Authority board of trustees has approved $400,000 in funding for the energy storage and microgrid training and certification (ESAMTAC) program to prepare electrical contractors and workers for safe and effective installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, repair, retrofitting, and decommissioning of energy storage and microgrid or energy surety microgrid (ESM) systems.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced state parks, historic sites, campgrounds and trails operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation saw a record 88.3 million visits in 2024. Customers of Wegmans Food Market stores raised more than $2.5 million during the company's fall 2024 hunger relief checkout scanning campaign, known regionally as "Check Out Hunger" or "Together Against Hunger." This campaign allows customers to donate any amount at checkout, with 100% of the proceeds going to each store's local Feeding America food bank partner.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed legislation to crack down on the "black market" for restaurant reservations. The bill prohibits third-party restaurant reservation services from arranging unauthorized reservations, putting an end to a predatory marketplace that placed a cost on consumers before they even entered a restaurant, and made dining inaccessible to those who refused to pay.
