Waterfront restaurant again extending season past summer
The Silo Restaurant is offering its youngest patrons a delicious new take on its popular “Sand Dock Sundae.”
“We are really excited to introduce our mini back to school ice cream buckets, which is a spin-off of our ‘Sand Dock Sundae’ challenge, but perfect-sized for kiddies,” General Manager Lexi Alfiere-David said. “It’s a mini sand pail filled with their ice cream of choice and piled high with whatever toppings they want!”

The original “Sand Dock Sundae” is almost a gallon of ice cream topped with whipped cream, crushed Oreo cookies, gummy worms and a cherry. Those who finish the entire sundae in one sitting receive a free souvenir T-shirt.

Customers will have more time to try their hand at the challenge – or enjoy a signature “Haystack” sandwich (see coupon below) – as The Silo is again extending its summer run.
“We are planning to extend our season to the very, very end of September, open seven days a week,” Alfiere-David said. “We had a successful September last season, and we’re looking forward to it again. We will be running our popular fall specials that include spooky sundaes, Halloween-themed ice cream cones, and apple cider floats.
“We have been running huge discounts for our customers via our social media/email group, and plan to continue to throughout September. If they join our rewards program, they get a point for every dollar they spend.”
