Erie County residents are invited to give their pumpkins a second life this fall! Eleven locations across Erie County will be open for pumpkin collection for composting Nov. 7-9 for a fun and ecofriendly way to wrap up the Halloween season.

Empire State Development: MAHLE's motor vehicle parts manufacturing facility expanding in Niagara County

Empire State Development (ESD) announced MAHLE, a leading international development partner and supplier to the automotive industry providing components to major automotive manufacturers across North America, will undergo a $6.8 million expansion at its Niagara County facility. The project, located in Lockport, will support at least 11 new jobs and retain 226 jobs in the state-of-the-art manufacturing space.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced Social Security benefits, including Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments for 75 million Americans will increase 2.8% in 2026. On average, Social Security retirement benefits will increase by about $56 per month starting in January.
