In response to the ongoing springtime flooding issues present within the Village of Lewiston, primarily in the northeast section, the Village of Lewiston Department of Public Works will perform a storm sewer upgrade at North Ninth and Mohawk streets, to 771 Mohawk, which is the connection to a large, concrete storm main that discharges directly to the Niagara River.

A holocaust survivor, Fishel has endured unimaginable hardship and has lived to remind future generations that we must be vigilant in fighting hate, antisemitism and intolerance. He is here in Lewiston this weekend to share his story.

This figure affects tax cap calculations for all counties, towns, and fire districts, as well as 44 cities and 13 villages.

State tax receipts totaled $33.2 billion through the first quarter of state fiscal year (SFY) 2025-26, $580.5 million higher than the most recent Division of the Budget (DOB) estimates. State tax collections were also $3.3 billion higher than the first quarter of 2024, according to the monthly state cash report released by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced a new state record brook trout. Benjamin Ferguson, a dedicated brook trout angler from Lowville, Lewis County, caught a 22-inch, 6-pound-3-ounce "brookie" from the St. Regis Canoe Area on July 5, edging out the 2013 record by 3 ounces. The record-breaking fish was caught while slow trolling a Lake Clear Wabbler.
