Jewish Museum of Buffalo press release
The Jewish Museum of Buffalo is pleased to announce “An Evening with Wolf Blitzer,” a special event bringing legendary journalist and Buffalo native Wolf Blitzer back to his hometown for an evening of conversation, remembrance and celebration.
The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Jewish Museum of Buffalo, located at 805 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with the main program beginning at 7 p.m.
Blitzer will join the family of longtime Buffalo broadcaster Irv Weinstein for an evening in conversation, celebrating Weinstein’s legacy and the deep connections between Buffalo’s Jewish community, journalism and storytelling.
The evening will also mark an important milestone for the Jewish Museum of Buffalo with the opening of the Stuart & Caren Shapiro Jewish Genealogy Center of Buffalo, providing a new resource for members of the community and the public to explore family histories and Jewish heritage. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be part of the evening’s festivities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wolf Blitzer home to Buffalo for this very special evening,” said Jill Gutmann, executive director of the Jewish Museum of Buffalo. “This event brings together so much of what makes Buffalo’s Jewish community special – our history, our stories, our families, and our commitment to preserving those stories for generations to come.”
Guests will have the opportunity to hear Blitzer share reflections on his remarkable career, his Buffalo roots, and the people and experiences that helped shape his life and work.
In addition to the featured conversation, attendees will be able to experience the Jewish Museum of Buffalo and celebrate the opening of the new genealogy center.
General admission tickets are $72, with student admission available for $36 with valid student identification. A variety of premium ticket packages are also available, including reserved seating, museum memberships, and VIP reception opportunities.
