Destination Niagara USA press release

The Niagara Falls Convention Center will once again welcome the annual New York State Public Employee Federation (PEF) Convention, from Oct. 18-21, bringing more than 800 delegates to Niagara Falls for a four-day citywide event expected to generate an estimated $1.77 million in economic impact for Niagara County.

The convention will generate more than 2,600 contracted room nights at downtown Niagara Falls hotels, including the Sheraton Niagara Falls, Wyndham Garden at the Falls, Hyatt Place Niagara Falls, DoubleTree by Hilton Niagara Falls and Holiday Inn Niagara Falls State Park Entry.

In addition to utilizing all available meeting space at the Niagara Falls Convention Center, PEF will host events at several hotels and other venues throughout the destination, including the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino and the One Niagara Building.

The 2026 convention marks PEF’s third time bringing its annual gathering to Niagara Falls, following successful events in 2021 and 2022. Its return highlights the destination’s ability to accommodate large-scale conventions that bring visitors, business and economic activity to the community.

“Citywide events like the PEF Convention are incredibly important to Niagara County’s tourism economy,” said John Percy, president and CEO of Destination Niagara USA. “These events generate significant economic activity that extends well beyond the convention center, supporting our hotels, restaurants, attractions and small businesses throughout the county. We are proud to welcome PEF back to Niagara Falls and demonstrate how our destination can deliver a successful convention experience while creating meaningful benefits for our local business community.”

By bringing hundreds of delegates to Niagara Falls USA and utilizing multiple venues throughout the city, the convention will provide a boost to local hospitality businesses and reinforce the importance of meetings and conventions as a driver of visitation and economic growth. Citywide events also introduce attendees to the destination’s attractions, dining, shopping and entertainment offerings, creating opportunities for additional visitor spending during their stay.

The mission of Destination Niagara USA is to expand the economic prosperity of the Niagara Falls USA communities by generating individual and group visitation. For more information, visit www.niagarafallsusa.com.
