Today, electronics recycler Sunnking launched registration in Buffalo for its 2025 fundraisers, e-Scrap for Camp and Recycle 4 Ronald, benefiting Camp Good Days and Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY.

The program recycles company and employee electronics to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times, a nonprofit organization that improves the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been affected by cancer; and Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY, a nonprofit organization that provides a “home-away-from-home” for families while their children receive critical medical care.

Businesses can register for free online at eScrapforCamp.com and Recycle4Ronald.com.

Companies around Buffalo can sign up now. Registration is open through June 14.

Businesses and organizations in the Buffalo area are encouraged to sign up to collect electronics from their company, employees, friends and family members for two weeks. Sunnking provides boxes to gather those devices and offers free delivery and pickup. For every pound of electronics recycled from participating organizations during the fundraiser, a portion of the proceeds are donated to Camp Good Days and RMHCWNY to fund future programs.

"This is an opportunity where you can give back and it has a direct impact on families and kids," said Cheryl McGee, the mother of a cancer survivor at Camp Good Days. "It's (a program) that's been in the community for over a decade, and this is a chance to be a part of something that is so unique and so special impacting the environment, our kids, and their families forever."

2025 marks the 15th year Sunnking has held the e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser throughout Western New York and the Finger Lakes regions. This is the first year Sunnking is holding Recycle 4 Ronald.

Last year, 306 businesses contributed as Sunnking gifted $9,498 to Camp Good Days.

Sunnking has donated more than $160,000 throughout the program's existence. To date, the program has recycled over 6.8 million pounds of electronics.

“Every device recycled helps us continue to provide children facing cancer or sickle cell anemia a place where they can simply be kids again, surrounded by friends who understand them and moments that bring them joy," said Jamie Varble, director of fundraising and operations at Camp Good Days & Special Times. “Every dollar raised helps ensure that no family ever has to pay to experience the magic of Camp Good Days."

"Working with Sunnking since 2010 has been an absolute pleasure. The win-win for local charities and our community is just one of the many reasons why Sunnking is such a reputable electronics recycling company," said Lisa Booz, executive director at Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY. "I hope every local business will take advantage of this opportunity to recycle electronics for free, while also helping two stellar local charities!"

How it works

√ Each participating location collects electronics from employees, friends and family.

√ Collection boxes and pallets will be provided by Sunnking the week before each location's scheduled collection at no cost.

√ Electronics are picked up by Sunnking the week after the scheduled collection week and recycled at no cost.

√ Sunnking will track and record the net weight of electronics recycled from each participating location.

√ Participants can choose to support Camp Good Days, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, or both. At the end of the campaign, Sunnking will donate money for every pound of electronics recycled to the selected option.
