VIP & premium seating moving fast for 8 summer concerts
Batavia Downs Press Release
The staff at Batavia Downs is ready for the start of the summer concert series, with crews putting the final touches on the venue’s stage and seating. Everything kicks off this Friday, June 20, the official first day of summer. Batavia Downs welcomes Queensryche to the “Rockin’ the Downs” Concert Stage.
Batavia Downs President and CEO Byron Brown said, “We are excited to get the outdoor summer concerts rolling! We have legendary groups including The Commodores, Kansas, Rochester’s own Lou Gramm; and we get things started with Queensryche, who’ve sold over 20 million albums worldwide.”
Ticket sales for the eight concerts this summer are outpacing last year’s sales currently by more than double.
“We’ve really got the best lineup we’ve ever had,” said Ryan Hasenauer, vice president of business development. “Very limited VIP and premium tickets remain for some shows, with others only having general admission tickets left.”
As with previous years, doors will open at 4 p.m. with at least two opening bands playing starting around 5:30 p.m. The main act takes the stage each Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Patrons will need to purchase drink tickets that can be redeemed outside for drinks. Food trucks will be onsite with a variety of foods. Several sponsors will have sampling opportunities onsite before the main act takes the stage. The party will continue afterward inside 34 Rush with DJ Jickster from “97 Rock.”
