On June 24, at approximately 10:40 a.m., while on routine patrol on Pine Avenue, a Niagara Falls Police officer was waved down for an assault incident that had just occurred.
During the investigation, it was determined the initial contact between the two individuals began as a dispute at 19th Street and Walnut, but ended at 19th and Pine Avenue.
The 55-year-old female was assaulted by a male with a stick and was responsive at the scene. She was transported by AMR to Erie County Medical Center where she is being treated for her injuries.
Detectives in the criminal investigation division are actively investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to call 716-286-4553.
The investigation is ongoing; the victim’s or suspect’s name is not being released at this time.
