Lockport CARES invites the community to its annual dinner and a movie, registration-only fundraising event Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Historic Palace Theatre in Lockport. Doors open at 6 p.m.
This year’s feature presentation is the beloved Christmas classic “Elf,” offering a night of joy, laughter and holiday cheer. Guests will enjoy a free meal, festive atmosphere, and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
“This event is a celebration of community generosity and compassion,” said Ruth Verratti of Lockport CARES. “Thanks to our incredible underwriters, the entire evening has been sponsored, which means every gift given the night of the event directly supports our mission to provide hope, shelter, and a pathway forward for those in need.”
Supporting a critical mission
All proceeds and donations from the evening will support Lockport CARES, a faith-based emergency shelter providing safe housing and meals for women, men and families with children. The shelter can accommodate up to nine guests at a time for 10-15 business days, offering not only temporary housing and meals, but also guidance, care and referrals to help individuals and families become self-supporting.
