Double Up Food Bucks NY Press Release & Graphic
Double Up Food Bucks NY (DUFBNY), the statewide nutrition incentive program that provides a free and automatic dollar-for-dollar match on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables, will remain available for SNAP shoppers at all participating DUFBNY locations throughout November, even if SNAP benefits are temporarily unavailable.
•SNAP shoppers with existing Double Up dollars in any format, including tokens, paper coupons, or electronic balances, can continue to spend them at all DUFBNY locations, even if their SNAP benefits are $0.
•If shoppers have SNAP benefits that carry over into November, they can still earn Double Up Food Bucks for eligible fresh produce purchases at year-round DUFBNY locations, up to $20 per day at grocery stores, and up to $50 per day at farm direct locations, like farmers markets, farm stands, and mobile markets.
•Select seasonal DUFBNY farm direct locations will also remain open for an additional month (through Nov. 30) to help ensure SNAP shoppers have greater access to healthy, affordable fresh produce in their area.
Participants should note that Double Up paper coupons used at grocery stores expire six weeks from the date of issue, so shoppers are encouraged to check expiration dates and redeem coupons soon. Double Up tokens and electronic balances do not expire.
