Christmas party? Office gathering? Night out with friends? Family dinner on a budget?
Whatever your culinary needs are this holiday season, Lewiston’s The Brickyard Pub & BBQ has what you need.
With two Center Street restaurants – the Brickyard and next-door Brickyard Brewing Company – the complex has plenty of space for banquets and gatherings of all sizes. The catering team also is mobile, and can bring the party platters to offices or other meeting places.
Though known for its barbecue, “We've done everything from steak and lobster weddings to pulled pork,” co-owner Ken Bryan said. “We'll do from 25 to 500. We’ve done some with a couple hundred people. We provide all the services – everything. We do a lot of small weddings. The barbecue fits that nice, casual outdoor wedding. We did quite a few of those last summer. That's a nice fit for us. (But) from pig roast to steaks, we do everything. We will build for their needs. We’re happy to work with whatever they’d like. We have the capability of doing everything.”
And everything is prepared in the Brickyard kitchen.

Again, “Everything from barbecue all the way to almost a sit-down, nice, fine-dining dinner with steak and lobster,” Catering Manager Brittani Jackel said. “We have a lot of Christmas parties who do just barbecue or beef on weck. Then we also have the nicer ones where you can choose three entrees – have your guests choose what they want, steak and lobster, chicken Marsala, salmon. It comes with a display station, appetizers and a dessert display.”
She added, “We don't just have one type of food. You can do barbecue. We have a Mexican station. We have traditional Buffalo food like chicken wings, pizza logs, beef on weck. Not everything is smoked. You can do both.”
“We do everything from birthday parties to big parties to small parties,” Jackel said. “You don't have to have a drink package. That sets us apart from a lot of places. You just have to order food. Our food minimums aren't huge,” and “you get the space for four hours. We don't charge a room fee.”
Brickyard catering also can accommodate events such as funerals, weddings, and same-day orders – though 24 hours’ notice is suggested.
“The guys are pretty good in the kitchen and can get it together,” Jackel said.
She added, “The girls that are doing banquets right now have been with us for a really, really long time. We've all been here for 10-, 15-plus years, so they know how to deal with people and make them happy.”

Value family packs

The holiday season can be stressful for any number of reasons – not the least of which is finances.
Aware of that, and of the past year’s federal government-inspired economic challenges, The Brickyard recently rolled out its “Winter Warmer” takeout package.
For $49 plus tax, guests will receive a choice of two meats and two sides, four pieces of cornbread, a house salad for four, plus dressings and barbecue sauce.
Standard meat choices include pulled pork, smoked turkey, meatloaf and chicken. Side selections include Brickyard beans, Cajun corn, collard greens, French fries, coleslaw and mashed potatoes.
Other choices – say, brisket, ribs or mac & cheese – are available for an additional fee.
The goal of these value packs, Bryan said, is to “give back to the to the local customer.”

The Brickyard (432 Center St.) and BBC (436 Center St.) recently rolled out a new winter ale, and will debut a new beer ahead of the Lewiston Christmas Walk weekend in December.
Cans also are available at DiMino’s Lewiston Tops.
