Born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on April 29, 1934, Dale was the son of the late John R. and Isabel L. (nee Lanigan) Lawrence. He graduated from Whaleyville High School in Virginia, attended William and Mary College, and later earned his degree from Niagara County Community College. On July 12, 1958, he married the former Barbara J. Kennedy in Somerset, beginning a devoted union that spanned 67 years.

Dale proudly served his country as an electronic technician in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, later continuing his service in the U.S. Air Force. His career included work with Bell AeroSystems in Niagara Falls and at the Houston Mission Control Center. He also owned and operated a TV repair business in Western New York before retiring as a clinical engineer from Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Beyond his professional life, Dale was deeply devoted to music and faith. He performed in numerous productions with the Niagara Falls Little Theater and was a gifted Gospel soloist, lending his voice to the Festival Choir, Lewiston Choraleers, and many area church choirs. His faith led him abroad as a Christian missionary to Russia and Ukraine with Koinonia. At home, he was a dedicated member of Colonial Village Presbyterian Church, serving as both elder and music leader.

Dale was predeceased by his parents; his son-in-law, Russell Termani; and his sister, Nancy (late Paul) Peters. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his loving children: Dawn and John (Kimberly) Lawrence; cherished grandchildren, Constance, Daniel (Piper), Michael (Wesley), Elizabeth (Michael), Emily and Riley; adored great-grandfather of six; his brother, Gordon (Dulce) Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
