Manslaughter sentencing in Niagara Falls

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Seleste J. Bomberry, age 30, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced this morning to spend the next 20 years in prison for her conviction of manslaughter in the first degree. Bomberry was convicted of stabbing and killing her 48-year-old mother, Gennie Blackwell, on March 23, 2025, inside their apartment on Main Street in Niagara Falls.

“This morning’s sentencing brings this tragic case to its conclusion,” Seaman said.

Sentence was imposed by County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek. The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Grace Tesmer.
