Press release

Tony, Emmy and five-time Grammy award-nominated singer, songwriter, actor and philanthropist Josh Groban has unveiled his breathtaking new album “Cinematic,” out now via Reprise Records. A tribute to the grand and gorgeous world of the silver screen, the 10-track album is both nostalgic and newly inspired – a transportive listening experience that honors the scores and songs that defined generations while reminding us why we fell in love with them in the first place.

“Bringing these songs to life was an incredibly meaningful experience for me,” Groban said. “Each one represents a moment in film that has resonated across generations, and I approached them with a deep respect for their original impact. At the same time, I wanted to find new emotional colors within them and share that sense of discovery with listeners, and I hope people connect with it and enjoy the journey as much as I did making it.”

Produced by Greg Wells (“Wicked,” “The Greatest Showman,” Dua Lipa, Adele, Taylor Swift) and recorded in both Los Angeles and London, the album features globally revered songs from such movie classics as “The Godfather,” “Casablanca,” “The Lion King,” “Stand By Me” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Standout moments include a moving rendition of “Stand By Me,” Groban’s soaring interpretation of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King,” and a sweeping version of “As Time Goes By” from “Casablanca.” Additional highlights include a powerful new rendition of “Skyfall” from the iconic James Bond film of the same name, a Sicilian-language rendition of “Brucia La Terra” from “The Godfather,” a stirring duet of “Unchained Melody” with friend and touring mate Jennifer Hudson, and a heartwarming rendition of “Moon River” featuring Josh’s father, Jack, on trumpet.

Earlier this week, Groban received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking another milestone in his celebrated career. Next week, he will make a series of television appearances, including a performance of “Skyfall” on “Good Morning America” on Monday, a guest appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Tuesday, and a performance of “Stand By Me” on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Thursday.

Last month, Groban completed his “GEMS World Tour,” delivering captivating performances to audiences in Hawaii, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. In June, he will head back out on the road for a North America tour with special guest Hudson. Additionally, Groban will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this fall for “GEMS The Las Vegas Residency.” For tickets and more information, visit joshgroban.com.

In March, Groban’s Find Your Light Foundation announced that, in its most recent grant cycle, it awarded over $1.5 million to 257 nonprofit organizations in 40 states, which helps ensure access to high-quality arts education for over 600,000 K-12 youth. Since its inception 20 years ago, the foundation has donated over $7.5M to more than 500 arts education organizations around the U.S.
