The Niagara County Department of Health has issued a water quality advisory for Olcott Beach. Routine water quality surveillance sampling conducted on Aug. 3 determined bacteriological levels exceeded standards established for safe recreational swimming. As a result, Olcott Beach has been closed to swimming until further notice.
The NCDOH will continue to monitor water quality closely and conduct follow-up testing. The status of all Niagara County permitted beaches can be found at: www.niagaracounty.gov/BeachReport.
