City of Niagara Falls press release

The City of Niagara Falls announced the hiring of Dana K. Colangelo as the city’s acting city clerk. She brings over 15 years of private sector experience working in the human resources field.

Colangelo most recently worked for Managed Care Network where she was a human resources specialist. Prior to Managed Care Network, she worked for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority.

At NFHA, she was responsible for managing policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws. Colangelo has familiarity with city government, having previously collaborated on community development and public safety initiatives through her work at NFHA.

Her new responsibilities will include preparing and distributing meeting agendas, attending all council meetings, and receiving and pre-filing all proposed legislation and resolutions for council consideration. In addition to her duties of working with the council, she will keep and file official city records and issue licenses and process applications for specific activities.

“The city clerk plays an integral role in the daily operations of City Hall. In her role, Dana will be overseeing the legislative process, official record-keeping and preserving transparency,” City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino said. “We look forward to Dana being a part of administration’s efforts in effectively delivering programs and services to the taxpayers of our city.”

Colangelo holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management degree and paralegal studies certificate from Niagara University.
