Tops Friendly Markets announced its annual United Way campaign raised more than $72,500, exceeding its fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of its loyal customers and associates.
Held Aug. 23 through Sept. 5 at select Tops locations, the campaign invited shoppers to donate $1 at checkout or round up their change. Together, these contributions help fund critical United Way programs and initiatives serving thousands of community members.
“Once again, our loyal customers and associates have shown what we can accomplish when we come together for our community,” said Darren Robbins, United Way board member and vice president of finance and treasurer for Tops Friendly Markets. “Their generosity helped us exceed our goal and will support vital programs for our neighbors who need them most. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and to our store teams for their dedication to making this campaign a success.”
Tops has been a longtime supporter of the United Way, encouraging both customer and associate participation each year. This year’s results reflect the spirit of United Way’s “United is the Way” message and Tops’ commitment to neighbors helping neighbors – working together to build stronger, healthier communities.
