Work ramps up at new Academy Park pavilion

VFW Downriver Post raising money for sled hockey team

Lewiston Veterans of Foreign Wars Downriver Post 7487 is raising money to help the Buffalo Sled Vets defend their Toyota USA Hockey Sled National Championship adult tier 5 pool A title. The team's leading scorer, Matthew Daniels, is a member of the VFW, and attended Lewiston-Porter and Niagara Wheatfield high schools before serving in the U.S. military.
2024 opening still the goal for Frontier House

The Frontier House did not reopen over the summer, as ownership hoped, but it's still on track to welcome visitors back in 2024 - the building's 200th anniversary year. Lewiston's historic crown jewel has been closed since December 2004, and under construction since December 2020.

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski said his office has been made aware of a scam targeting E-ZPass users with fake text messages. Jastrzemski said this scam has been going after customers of tolling agencies across the country that persuades them to enter personal and/or financial information on a phony website - and it appears E-ZPass customers are now the latest targets.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced its primary care network has received the prestigious patient-centered medical home (PCMH) certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its four primary care practices located at the Golisano Primary Care Center, Lewiston Primary Care, and the two practices located at the Summit Healthplex in Wheatfield.
