The Chapel Niagara Falls campus announces Christmas Eve service at Niagara Falls High School

The Chapel's Niagara Falls campus announced its Christmas Eve service will be held at the Niagara Falls High School Performing Arts Center, 4455 Porter Road. Due to space limitations at the 66th Street campus and the anticipated number of attendees on Christmas Eve, the larger venue will allow the church to welcome guests more comfortably and safely.

Niagara Wine Trail to hold 'Procrastination Shoppers Mart'

The Niagara Wine Trail will hold an event Dec. 19-21 to encourage last-minute shoppers to buy local. At the "Procrastination Shoppers Mart," each member winery will be open regular hours and, in addition to festive tastings, some of the wineries will have specials including sales, free food samples, and guest merchants.

Niagara County Clerk warns residents without REAL ID of airport fee

Niagara County Joseph A. Jastrzemski today warned those who are flying domestically but still do not have a REAL ID-compliant license or other acceptable documents that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin charging them a $45 fee starting Feb. 1, 2026. The fee is to use the TSA Confirmi.ID process, which uses advanced biometrics and biographic data for identification verification.
'A Miracle in North Tonawanda' aims to help Twin Cities Community Outreach

The Riviera Theatre and several local restaurants are teaming up to help support Twin Cities Community Outreach (TCCO), home of the NT Inter Church food pantry, with a special event Thursday, Dec. 11, according to Niagara County legislators Rich Andres, Randy Bradt and Jesse Gooch, who are spearheading the effort. This is the third year for the event, dubbed "A Miracle in North Tonawanda."

The New York State Department of Transportation is pleased to announce that, weather-permitting, one lane of the southbound bridge carrying Interstate 190 over Niagara Falls Boulevard (U.S. Route 62) in the City of Niagara Falls is scheduled to reopen to traffic Saturday morning, Dec. 6.

State Parks seeks lifeguards for 2026

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced there will be four lifeguard exams scheduled in the Niagara Region for the 2025 season. Testing is required for anyone wishing to work as a lifeguard at any New York state park.
Town of Wheatfield shares lead-testing results; announces rate changes

At Monday's Town Board meeting, Wheatfield Water and Sewer Department head Mark Clark gave the Town of Wheatfield an update on the municipality's efforts to test for lead in water. The testing has been mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency following new changes in the lead and copper rule.

Winter weather advisories have been issued for Sunday night into Monday morning, with 3 to 6 inches of snow forecasted for Chautauqua County and 3 to 5 inches possible in Niagara and Orleans counties - and localized higher amounts possible.
