Gov. Kathy Hochul, on Friday, announced the opening of the Great Lakes 360 living museum on the newly expanded campus of the Aquarium of Niagara in Niagara Falls State Park. Construction has begun on Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper's living shoreline project on Ellicott Island Bark Park in Erie County's Ellicott Creek Park. Heavy construction is expected to continue through early July, with plantings occurring throughout the 2024 growing season. Substantial completion of the project is anticipated to occur by October.

Erie County Medical Center Corp. and ECMC Foundation, on Saturday, June 1, presented "Springfest Gala 2024," the largest not-for-profit gala in Western New York, which drew over 1,800 guests from the business, medical and ECMC communities for an evening of entertainment, fine dining, and celebration. "Springfest 2024" raised $1.2 million this year to benefit lifesaving medical services at ECMC.
