On Wednesday, Artpark & Company announced a grant award totaling $25,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts to support the arts and culture sector. Through New York state's continued investment in arts and culture, NYSCA has awarded $80.9 million in fiscal year 2026 to arts and culture nonprofits across all 10 regions and a historic number of artists.

Niagara Gospel Mission volunteers had a busy night before Thanksgiving - and even busier Thanksgiving day - preparing and handing out over 2,200 prepackaged Thanksgiving meals to people in the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Niagara, and the City of North Tonawanda. Around 300 volunteers showed up and were assigned different roles for the "Feed the Falls" event.

Proceeds from the President's Dinner benefit Niagara University's scholarship programs. This year's event raised $240,000 toward student scholarship assistance.

To boost awareness of CPR, the American Heart Association and National Football League are unveiling the 2025 Nation of Lifesavers Player Ambassador Class on World Restart a Heart Day, which takes places annually on Oct. 16. The ambassador class is made up of 30 current NFL players who are dedicated to promoting this lifesaving skill. Included on that roster is the Buffalo Bills' own safety Damar Hamlin.
