Production wrapped this week on "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story," the Hallmark "Countdown to Christmas" movie shot in and centered on Buffalo. WNY Food 4 Paws, a nonprofit addressing pet food insecurity in Western New York, is honored to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from Bailey and Friends, a trust component of the B. Thomas Golisano Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase dry cat food for distribution through 33 food and pet pantry partners across the region, helping vulnerable families keep their pets healthy, fed, and at home.

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens' new "Butterfly Experience" opens this weekend and will be open daily from June 7 to Aug. 3. Hundreds of live butterflies have taken flight in their newly renovated tropical orchard. The live butterfly exhibit will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at buffalogardens.com.

The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America announced it raised over $1.4 million after completing its 29th anniversary ride, which took place May 3-9. Funds raised directly benefit Victory Junction - a camp in Randleman, North Carolina, servicing children with chronic medical illnesses. The ride's donation supports summer camperships, building projects and maintenance programs.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced General Motors will invest $888 million in new machinery and equipment at its Tonawanda plant to produce a next-generation small-block V-8 engine for use in GM's line of full-size trucks and SUVs. The project will support 870 jobs at Tonawanda Propulsion, including 177 jobs that were deemed at risk.

Erie County Medical Center Corp. and ECMC Foundation, on Saturday, May 10, presented "Springfest Gala 2025," the largest not-for-profit gala in Western New York, which drew 1,800 attendees from the business, medical and ECMC communities for an evening of entertainment, fine dining and celebration. "Springfest" raised $1.2 million to benefit lifesaving medical services at ECMC.
