On Saturday, the Wheatfield Lions Club officially dedicated the new fishing deck and improvements to the pond at our Five Senses Park, and accessible trails made possible with the efforts of many people both within our organization - but also thanks to Niagara Greenway funds. A young man who grew up on a farm on Grand Island and who died in combat in France at the age of 22 was remembered Sunday at a ceremony held 80 years after his death. The Lewiston Garden Club will present its annual Lewiston GardenFest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, along Center Street. The Lewiston Garden Club event will include approximately 70 vendors selling flowers, plants, and handcrafted garden essentials, along with a garden walk, speakers, and a container garden contest.
