On Feb. 4, West Street Elementary School held a fundraiser for the American Red Cross disaster relief fund to help victims of the tornadoes in Florida and the widespread fires in California. Children were asked to donate a dollar to enter a coloring contest and, if at least $200 was raised, then Principal Mr. Mong would have to kiss a goat (this year's leadership theme is country/farm).

It's tax season, and accounting students from Niagara University's Holzschuh College of Business Administration and members of its accounting society and Beta Alpha Psi will again provide members of the Niagara Falls community free tax preparation assistance through the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which offers free tax help for low- to moderate-income families, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and those with limited English proficiency.

Shea's Performing Arts Center announced "Dancing with the Stars Live" has been rescheduled at Shea's Buffalo Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. The performance, previously scheduled for Jan. 21, was postponed due to severe winter weather.
