The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston will salute the 2026 Lewiston Jazz Festival by hosting a special jazz service at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30. The event is open to the public.
The “Joy of Music, Celebrating America,” a family-friendly service, will include spiritual readings and music by the Bob Hull Quartet, a renowned Western New York musical group.
Hull is music director for First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston and is a well-known Western New York pianist and organist. He is a member of the Church Musicians Guild of Buffalo and active member of the Chromatic Club of Buffalo, the American Guild of Organists and the Buffalo Choral Arts Society. He also performs regularly as a jazz musician in the Buffalo area and volunteers his time as organist at the historic West Herr Riviera Theater in North Tonawanda.
“As Lewiston’s oldest and most historic church, First Presbyterian is honored to salute the tremendously popular annual Jazz Festival, which attracts visitors to the village from throughout New York and Canada,” Pastor Carly Beard said.
The church is located at 505 Cayuga St., and is handicapped accessible. Parking is available on the street or in a large lot behind the church. Events are open to all, and children of all ages are welcome to participate. Visit www.lewistonpres.org. For more on the jazz event, call 716-545-7012.
