The Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday for Deal Realty, welcoming Tom and Cheryl Deal to their new headquarters at 748 Center St., Lewiston.
Chamber President Amanda Haseley called the newly built office beautiful while noting the Deals have been a staple on Center Street and a true community partner.
“What a difference 11 months makes!” Haseley said. “Last September, we celebrated the groundbreaking for Deal Realty’s new building.”
“Congratulations to the entire Deal Realty team on this exciting investment in Lewiston and a great new addition to Center Street,” she added. “Thank you for all you do for our community!”
Tom Deal thanked those in attendance. Among those in audience were family, friends, coworkers, and local elected leaders Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, Village of Lewiston Mayor Dan Cota, village trustees Jim Fittante and Tina Coppins, and Town of Lewiston Councilman Rob Morreale.
Deal joked the new headquarters will be called “Monty Hall.”
“Does anybody have any idea why it's named ‘Monty Hall?’ ” he asked. “ ‘Let's Make a Deal.’
“We said we had the Opera Hall right there (next door). Now we got ‘Monty Hall’!”
To celebrate the occasion, Deal Realty sponsored a free concert at Academy Park. Featured on the Alphonso I. DiMino Memorial Band Shell were young musicians from the Del Lago School of Music and, all the way from Toronto, international U2 tribute Desire.
