YMCA Buffalo Niagara press release

YMCA Buffalo Niagara is inviting the public to “Try the Y for Free” during an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. The entire community is invited to any of the five YMCA Buffalo Niagara branches to enjoy a workout, try a fitness class, and swim at the YMCA for free. Anyone who joins during this time can also save $75 on the join fee.

It’s all part of the Y’s “Welcoming Week,” a chance for Western New Yorkers to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. As part of the celebrations, the YMCA is hosting a naturalization ceremony at its William-Emslie location at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. At this ceremony, individuals from multiple countries will officially become U.S. citizens.

Locally founded in 1852, YMCA Buffalo Niagara is a charitable, community-based organization committed to providing programs designed to build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA's focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility is reflected in the variety of programs that are offered to all ages and abilities. A nonprofit organization, YMCA Buffalo Niagara serves more than 1 in 12 people annually through five membership branches and four camps throughout Western New York, as well as at over 40 community-based program sites.
