Press release

The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston and Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market will host an annual community Halloween trunk-or-treat event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the back parking lot adjacent to the church social hall.

The event is free and open to all in the community to either participate with decorated cars and trunks, or to bring the family for tricks or treats, spooktacular giveaways and fun games for all ages. Face painting will also be available.

On Sunday, Oct. 25, the church will celebrate “Every Child Matters,” a service supporting the National Movement for Truth and Reconciliation, as it recognizes the atrocities committed against Indigenous neighbors in the Indian residential school system. The community is invited to join the service at 11:15 a.m. as participants pledge to remember the past, respect neighbors and love children in the community. Wearing an item of orange clothing is encouraged. Free nursery care is available during worship for ages 0-3 years.

The church is located at 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston. It is handicapped accessible. Worship services are open to all and are held on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. Parking is available on the street or in a large lot behind the church. Visit www.lewistonpres.org, email the church at Firstpreslewiston@gmail.com, or find it on Facebook.
