Artpark & Company, along with the Niagara Theater Collective, is thrilled to announce its summer theater camp production of “Hansel and Gretel”! The classic fairy tale will be brought to life by a cast and crew of youths ages 13-18 utilizing the unique space of the Emerald Grove, the perfect forest performance space.
The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays July 21-25, and will culminate in free public performances on the Emerald Grove Stage at 5 p.m. Friday, July 25; and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26. There is a $250 fee to attend camp.
The camp is directed by Anne DeFazio, a Lewiston resident who teaches music in the Niagara Wheatfield School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wagner College with a concentration in music and theater, and a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Roberts Wesleyan College. DeFazio has appeared in productions with Starring Buffalo, MusicalFare, Kavinoky Theatre, Second Generation, First Look Theatre, O'Connell & Company and Rocking Horse Productions.
The following roles are available:
√ Hansel: Male, Younger teen
√ Gretel: Female, Younger teen
√ Witch: Any gender, older teen
√ Father: Male, older teen
√ Mother: Female, older teen
√ The Bird: Any gender, any age
√ The Gnome: Any gender, any age
Sides will be provided. Auditions will be at Artpark, 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston, in the Emerald Grove, at the following times: 6-8 p.m. June 13; noon until 2 p.m. June 14; and via Zoom by request. Sign up using the audition form.
