Music fans in attendance Saturday at Artpark were thoroughly impressed with both headliner Grace Potter and upstart support Johnnyswim. The Lewiston crowd was into the setlists and cheering for more songs.
Potter has forged a formidable career that’s included sharing the stage with the likes of Robert Plant, Allman Brothers Band, the Rolling Stones and Mavis Staples, in addition to earning three Grammy nominations (including Best Rock Album for her critically lauded 2019 album “Daylight,” and another for a 2011 collaboration with country superstar Kenny Chesney). She has released a half-dozen albums as a solo artist, including her new release, “Medicine.”
Johnnyswim is an American folk, soul, blues and pop music act consisting of married singer-songwriters Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez. The duo formed in 2005 in Nashville, and has released multiple studio albums and EPs. Their song, “Home,” is the theme song to the popular “Fixer Upper” television show, and Johnnyswim has been featured in a handful of on-camera, behind-the-scenes specials.
