Mental Health Association in Niagara County to hold meat raffle fundraiser

Thu, Mar 12th 2026 11:45 am

Press release

The Mental Health Association in Niagara County is having its annual meat raffle fundraiser on Saturday, March 21, at St. Johnsburg Firehall, 7165 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with the first draw at 6:30 p.m. The meat raffle is the agency’s main fundraiser.

The Mental Health Association in Niagara County, Inc. provides programming and services for those living with a mental health diagnosis and their families.

“We only do two fundraisers each year, our poinsettia/wreath sale in November and our meat raffle in the spring,” Executive Director Daniel Colpoys said. “The rates of mental health disabilities are rising, especially among youth, and the statistics are staggering: 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year; 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year; and suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people aged 10-14. So, we appreciate the community’s support in helping us raise funds to continue to provide mental health programming for our county’s residents and their families. And special thanks to Niagara County legislators Chris Robins and Chris McKimmie and Northwest Bank for their generous sponsorships.”

For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Colpoys at 716-433-3780, Ext. 310, or dcolpoys@mhanc.com.
