Public artwork opportunity at Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, Isle View Park; selected projects could receive funding of up to $75,000

Submitted by the Office of the Erie County Executive Director of Communications

Erie County is pleased to announce two new calls for artists as part of the “Arts in Public Places” program, for public art commissions to be installed exclusively at the following Erie County locations: Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens and Isle View Park. This opportunity is for artists residing in Erie County who have not been previously selected to complete an “Art in Public Places” public art project. Each selected project will receive funding of up to $75,000.

All works will be prominently displayed in each of these locations, providing high visibility and engagement with diverse audiences.

The deadline for applying is noon Monday, April 20. A virtual Q&A session will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24. Artists interested in applying are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the opportunity, selection process, and project requirements. To submit questions prior to the virtual information session, email publicart@erie.gov. For the virtual Q&A session link, full details, and online application, visit www.erie.gov/publicart.

This project is administered by the Erie County Department of Environment & Planning and the “Arts in Public Places” committee, which is dedicated to commissioning public art that reflects the diversity, creativity and voices of Erie County residents.
