Mamie was active in community affairs, including as a charter member of the Lewiston Beautification Committee, and a volunteer for several area organizations, including the Friends of the Lewiston Library. She died in 2016, but is fondly remembered by all at the library.
The Simonson family generously donated to the Friends to create a fund in recognition of those who demonstrate a commitment to the Lewiston Library through volunteerism.
