Sir Roger Daltrey, the legendary lead singer of The Who, brought his “A Great Night Out” tour to Artpark in Lewiston on Thursday. Daltrey was spry and smooth, as he wowed the audience with his musical mastermind.
His show combined The Who classics, rare gems, and solo favorites from an extraordinary career. Backed by a semi-acoustic, rock-driven band, the performance offered a fresh, intimate take on iconic songs, alongside candid stories that gave fans an inside look into music history – while experiencing one of music’s most legendary performers in a rare, up-close and personal setting.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer was backed by Simon Townshend (guitar), Billy Nicholls (mandolin), Jody Linscott (percussion), Doug Boyle (guitar), John Hogg (bass), Katie Jacoby (violin), Steve Weston (harmonica), Geraint Watkins (keyboards/accordion) and Scott Devours (drums). Amy Helm served as opening act.
