Last Friday, for the first time in more than 20 years, the general public walked through the front doors of the historic Frontier House in Lewiston. The building's first-floor tenant, Fairbanks restaurant, hosted a soft opening for those who helped its proprietors, Daniel Hagen and Jake Strawser, craft their second restaurant. They also operate Billy Club in Buffalo.

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski announced that those who need to take notary exams can now do so at the SUNY Niagara campus rather than having to drive to downtown Buffalo. The exams are offered twice a month.

You may have seen them planting colorful gardens on Center Street, the waterfront, the Peace Garden, Hennepin Park and the Red Brick School to name a few locations benefitting from members' hard work and green thumbs. Artpark & Company teamed with musicians from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on Wednesday for an intimate candlelight concert inside the Mainstage Theater. To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Old Fort Niagara announced plans to construct a replica 18th century Native American dwelling to serve as a Native American Education Center. The site will vividly represent the living conditions for Native Americans at the fort during the Revolution, and serve as a focal point for the Native living history programming.

Niagara County announces upcoming closure of Hartland Road

The Niagara County Department of Public Works announced two sections of Hartland Road in the towns of Somerset and Hartland will be closed to all motorists, except local traffic, beginning Monday, June 9. Detour signs will be in place to redirects motorists.
