Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today said the county's three Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Lockport, Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda are once again decorated to celebrate April as Donate Life Month. Throughout the month, those who have saved lives through the gift of a donation are honored - and others are encouraged to consider registering as organ, eye and tissue donors.

The Niagara County Legislature has appointed Legislator Jesse Gooch as its representative to the Niagara Military Affairs Council. NIMAC is the civilian-led organization that supports the growth and prosperity of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. HOPE Day, the annual 24-hour match challenge day of giving, raised a total of $528,105 in support of Appeal 2026 on March 18 to benefit Catholic Charities of Buffalo and the "Fund for the Faith," pushing the annual campaign past the halfway mark toward its overall $8 million goal. The total surpasses last year's record of $516,124.

Mark Hagar Jr., 50, has lost 60 pounds so far, as his chemotherapy treatments continue at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute. There is no cure for pancreatic cancer and the treatment he's receiving is for "maintenance," Hagar explained from his home on Friday.
