The event was also part of the fifth annual Great Lakes Cleanup, a program developed and led by Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper that brings nearly 20 partner organizations across the Great Lakes basin together to clean up along the shores of the Great Lakes.

Residents in most Erie County municipalities are eligible for a subsidized "Composter Kit," which includes the Earth Machine compost bin, a rodent screen and compost turner for $30.

To address this pressing health concern, the association launched the equity-focused hypertension initiative in Buffalo to improve heart health outcomes.
